With increasing demand for more personalized insurance offerings and changes in the insurance data landscape, AIG, a leading global insurance organization that provides property casualty insurance, life insurance, retirement products, and other financial services to clients in more than 80 countries and jurisdictions needed a way to store, manage and analyze cross-channel customer data in a scalable and agile platform to meet the needs of a marketing analytics application that was being built.
Challenge: AIG had large amounts of data from different sources that needed to combined, organized, and managed to support the marketing analytics application that provided insights into customer journey maps, predictive conversion analysis, marketing spend efficiency and customer segmentation. The company also wanted to use the elasticity and cost-effectiveness of the cloud to build their data lake.
Solution: AIG chose AWS with the Zaloni Data Platform (ZDP) because they needed centralized management, governance, and self-service data preparation in their cloud environment. Additionally, ZDP provided automated data ingestion; metadata management; data governance such as lineage, data quality and privacy and security; and data lifecycle management.
Results: ZDP and AWS created a governed and operationalized cloud analytics-ready data lake. The cloud-based data lake powered their marketing analytics application with clean, reliable data which provided the company with a holistic view of user journeys, segmentation of customers for targeted marketing campaigns, and customer and marketing analytics.
