Zaloni and Azure were selected by a large global airline conglomerate to build and deploy a managed, governed data lake using the Zaloni Data Platform (ZDP) that delivered a full view of enterprise data across systems and networks, and provides business users with broader, controlled access to data for agile analytics and to support their Customer 360 initiative.
Challenge: The company owns significant equity in a number of alliance partner airlines and needed to integrate and match huge volumes of disparate data to create Customer or “Golden” Master Records to personalize and improve customer experience. These “golden” records provide an enriched view of customer or product data for applications such as booking, check-ins, baggage handling and more.
Solution: Zaloni helped build and deploy an enterprise data lake using the Zaloni Data Platform (ZDP) which allowed the company to ingest data from numerous sources, provide governance and operationalize workflows. The company also implemented Zaloni’s machine-learning data matching engine, Data Master, to automate the capture and combination of any data type. Data Master is built on top of the robust Zaloni Data Platform and uses Spark machine-learning libraries and analytic approaches to integrate data silos, even in the absence of unique identifiers from operational systems. These approaches include probabilistic matching for record linkage, and advanced data clustering and data classification techniques. Data Master also uses reinforced learning techniques that enable the company to train the matching models based on live sample data. This “training” provides maximum accuracy that may be adjusted as data changes over time. In addition, ZDP allowed the company to ingest data from numerous sources, provide governance and operationalize workflows.
Results: The implementation resulted in agile data mastering for golden records, a governed enterprise-wide data platform and improved customer experience.
